Matt Senjem

Matt Senjem has been active in the Twin Cities music scene since moving to Minneapolis in 1995. Matt graduated from the University of Minnesota, where he studied jazz performance and theory under the direction of Gary Raynor, Phil Hey, and Dr. Ron McCurdy, and double bass technique with Tom Pieper. Matt remained active in the U of M big band and jazz combos up until his graduation in 1999, with a major in mathematics. Since then, Matt has played bass with many Twin Cities bands and musicians, including the BellCats, Rob Dewey, Nichola Miller, Robert Bell, the Twin Cities Hot Club, Vic Volare, Parisota Hot Club, Connie Evingson, the Creole Four, Frenchy's BBB Band, Guitarzan vs. Bazzilla, Patrick Harison, and many more.

Matt continues to explore new musical idioms and challenges, including a recent endeavor to re-learn the trombone - his first instrument. Matt's other interests include mathematics, computer programming, and maintaining this website!
